Exercise number and title

  • Represents the order of the exercise in your plan.

    • When there is an additional letter, it means that you must follow it with another exercise (1A, for example).

Sets

  • The number of times you will have to repeat the prescribed number of repetitions or duration.

Reps / Time

  • Reps:

    • Abbreviation for repetitions.

    • This is the number of times you have to repeat the movement during the set.

  • Time:

    • If the exercise is based on duration rather than number of repetitions, it will be displayed in time.

    • In automatic playback mode, the timer will start automatically.

Load

  • This is the weight lifted.

  • It will be in the unit corresponding to the unit system chosen by the professional.

Recovery

  • Time corresponding to the recovery period between two exercises.

  • In the form Minutes:Seconds

Tempo

The tempo is the time in seconds during which the movement will be performed.

Click here for more details on tempo.

Explanation of the “universal” tempo: 2-0-2-0

  • The first digit represents the eccentric phase.

    • E.g.: 2 seconds to lower the bar during a bench press

  • The second number represents the pause phase at the bottom of the movement.

    • In this example, there is no pause.

  • The third number represents the concentric phase.

    • The 2 corresponds to the time taken to lift the bar.

  • The fourth and last number represents the pause phase at the top of the movement.

    • Again, there is no pause in this example.

Additional information:

  • The tempo is usually four beats, but sometimes only three are used. (E.g.: 2-0-2)

  • A number can be replaced by an “X” to indicate a contraction at maximum speed. (E.g.: 2-0-X-0)

  1. Represents the order of the exercise in your plan.
